Best Effort delivery means that Blue Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd attempts to always deliver the advertised speed, but in some rare cases outside of Blue Telecommunications control the speed may drop below the advertised amount.
What does Dedicated Internet refer to?
Dedicated Internet connection is an uncontended connection that has the same upload and download speed, dedicated for your company.
Are there uncapped packages?
Uncapped: All terrestrial broadband services are uncapped. This allows the user to consume as much data as they require.
What does Blue Telecommunications mean by High site?
A High Site refers to a central elevated location used by Blue Telecommunication to provide Air Fibre Connectivity.
Do I Need a clear Line of Sight for Air fibre connectivity to work properly?
Line of Sight is required to provide Air Fibre connectivity. This Must be Completely unobstructed.
How does a high Site connect to Air fibre Subscribers?
Sectors provide connectivity from a High Site to Air fibre Subscribers through a specified Microwave frequency.
What Equipment s installed at my home for Air fibre connectivity?
Microwave Transceivers are used to connect Air fibre subscriber to Sectors and can vary in design; these devices are mounted externally at subscriber residences and are weatherproof.
What is a PoE Injector and why is it needed for Air Fibre?
PoE Injectors are commonly used to power the microwave transceiver and usually have a steady LED light showing the unit is powered.
How does a router work in my Air Fibre network?
Routers are networking devices that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the traffic directing functions between networks and on the global internet. Data sent through a network, such as a web page or email, is in the form of data packets.
Do I have to use specific equipment for Air fibre?
All primary networking equipment (routers) must be sourced from Blue Telecommunications (PTY) Ltd. Any additional networking equipment not installed by Blue Telecommunications staff on initial setup will carry an additional charge to be programmed.
What is considered unauthorized equipment for Air Fibre?
Unauthorized Equipment refers to any device that hasn’t been approved by Blue Telecommunications but is connected to the customer network.
This Includes:
- Modems or routers not supplied or recommended by Blue Telecommunications
- Wi-Fi boosters or repeaters not approved
- Devices that can change how the network works or affects its security
Using this kind of equipment can cause slower speeds, connection problems, risk your network security or even refusal of service. To get the best service or support, please only use equipment provided or approved by Blue Telecommunications.
What Happens if I don’t pay my Air fibre bill on time?
Disconnections of services will occur when outstanding amounts, whether for equipment, callouts or subscription, have not been paid 7 days from the date of invoice.
How can I get my Air Fibre service reconnected after disconnection?
Re- Connection of services will only occur after all outstanding amounts have been fully paid.
What is upstream provider and what do they do?
Upstream providers are responsible for data transmission to the global internet. Blue telecommunications PTY Ltd utilizes various upstream providers to maintain stable connectivity.
How will I be informed of scheduled maintenance?
Maintenance refers to any work done by Blue Telecommunications on internal infrastructure. Subscribers will be informed a minimum of 24 hours in case of schedule maintenance. Emergency maintenance may occur at irregular times and ETA on completion may not be available until technical staff has arrived on site.
Who is responsible for Air Fibre equipment after installation?
All equipment bought from and installed by Blue Telecommunication during the installation process becomes the sole responsibility of the Customer once the installation has been confirmed as completed. Any replacements, repairs or reprogramming that must be performed by members of blue staff because of the customers action or that of any other third party will be charged according to standard Labor or equipment rates as outlined previously.
What Notice is required to terminate my Air Fibre subscription?
You may cancel the service at any time with at least 30 days notice. Early termination fees may apply if you are withing a fixed-term agreement.
When can I receive a credit for Air Fibre service?
Credit will ONLY be issued at our discretion in cases of service interruption exceeding 72 consecutive hours due to faults on our network.
