Founded in Walvis Bay
Radio Electronic is Born

Mr. S. Rössler establishes Radio Electronic in Walvis Bay, Namibia. With a strong focus on Marine Electronics, the company quickly built a reputation of precision, reliability, & service in the maritime sector. What began as a focused service company soon transformed into one of Namibia’s leading providers for communication systems, alternative energy solutions, & integrated electronic technologies.

1992
A New Chapter with Independence
Leadership Change & Strategic Restructuring

Namibia gains independence, and Radio Electronic restructures into a Close Corporation (CC). The new leadership includes Mr. G.F. Rössler, Mr. G.B. Heitmann, Mr. U.W.H. Eisel, and Mr. L.R.P. Zahradnicky. The company starts representing international manufacturers directly, reducing dependence on South African distributors, a strategic shift that enables long-term growth.

Expansion to the Capital
New Windhoek Branch Opens

To serve Namibia’s growing demand for Land Mobile Radio, Satellite Phones, HF Communications, and Navigation Equipment, a new office is opened in Windhoek. This becomes the hub for Government and Corporate clients, as well as a gateway to cross-border business in Angola and beyond.

Entering the Alternative Energy Market
Power Solutions for Namibia’s Future

Radio Electronic begins supplying inverters, chargers, batteries, and renewable energy systems from trusted global brands like Victron Energy B.V. This positions the company as a key player in Namibia’s alternative energy and power back-up landscape.

Radio Systems Division Launch
Meeting Advanced Communication Demands

To address the growing needs of mining, corporate, and governmental clients, the Radio Systems Division is born. This division specializes in digital radio networks, TETRA, and Motorola MotoTrbo™ systems, laying the foundation for large-scale trunking system deployments nationwide.

Generational Transition
New Members, Same Commitment

Three of the founding members retire. The company welcomes Mr. R. Rothkegel, Mr. J. Wormsbacher, Mr. H. Schrader, and Mr. F. du Toit, joining existing member Mr. G.B. Heitmann. Together, they lead a growing team of 27 employees into the next era.

Licensed for Telecom Services
Telecom Evolution Begins

Radio Electronic earns the Class Comprehensive Telecommunication Service License (ECS & ECNS) from CRAN, Namibia’s communications regulator. This unlocks the ability to provide broadband and digital network services using our own high-site infrastructure.

Blue Air Fibre Launched
Bringing Broadband Where Fibre Can’t Go

With the launch of Blue Air Fibre, Radio Electronic begins offering fibre-like speeds using carrier-grade microwave broadband technology, ideal for remote homes, businesses, and industrial operations. This is the beginning of a new era in wireless internet connectivity.

Blue Telecommunications is born
Focused Telecom Operations

Radio Electronic establishes Blue Telecommunications (Pty) LTD, a fully Namibian-owned subsidiary. The ECS & ECNS license is transferred, enabling a laser-focus on broadband, satellite, and narrowband technologies, while ring-fencing operations for dedicated telecom growth.

A Year of Forward Momentum

Radio Electronic Namibia Opened our new Walvis Bay Headquarters, marking a major milestone for the company. Leadership introduced a new operational model and appointed our first CEO, Mr. F. du Toit, alongside our Financial Director Mr. H. Schrader and Marine Director Mr. J. Wormsbaecher. Together they implemented our Quality Management System (QMS) to drive excellence and continuous improvement.

Secures Spectrum License to offer LEO services in Namibia

Radio Electronic (Pty) Ltd, through its licensed subsidiary Blue Telecommunications, is the first company in Namibia to receive regulatory approval to deliver Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services, enabling the introduction of Eutelsat OneWeb connectivity in the country.
